Electronic voting

According to the Associated Press, Georgia's introduction of electronic voting reduced uncounted votes for both predominantly Black and white precincts, but the reduction was more dramatic for Blacks than whites...

[...]

The racial gap in uncounted votes was 3.55% in 2000; the gap is now down to 0.48%. To put it differently, the proportion of uncounted votes in the predominantly black precincts was 2.1 times larger than that in the predominantly white precincts in 2000; the former is only 1.4 times larger than the latter in 2004.

While this might appear to be a positive point for electronic voting, in the end, if the electronic machinery is hacked or fixed to deliver a particular vote, it really doesn't matter that blacks are now getting their votes counted, now does it?
