Carlyle and conspiracies

The other day I had an occasion to send someone a link to my webpage with information on the Carlyle Group. Thought I'd post the follow-up correspondence...

Thanks M,

I am still a little dumbfounded by just the very obvious basic facts - facts you don't need to go into conspiracy theories to see.

The most basic one is that Bush and friends have set up their investment portfolio to profit from a major war and an increase in oil prices.

By the way, I find this very basic to see - although I have been a stockbroker for a number of years and tend to look at these types of things. But I presume it is obvious to anyone.

Then, given their backgrounds and connections (don't forget, this world operates on the principle of it's not what you know - but who you know) the conspiracy theories can just go hay wire.

Thanks for the link.

you're welcome, simon. i think these things are obvious to anyone who cares. apparently, most of us don't. in fact, i think most americans would like to be in bush's position. ethics are for losers. "moral issues" being the thing that brought out the bush supporters in the election is misleading. they're talking about "sexual issues", not moral ones. any way to pull the wool over your own eyes.

as for conspiracy theories, my opinion on them is that as long as there are at least three people, there will be a conspiracy. it's to the benefit of the conspirators, however, to paint those who notice as nutjobs.

ah well. such is life here on this planet in this timeframe.

hoping for a spot more compatible with my own preferences as soon as possibleĆ¢€¦

blessings,
m
