Now let's see if he'll negotiate with terrorists

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Three members of Iraqi interim prime minister Ayad Allawi's family were abducted from their Baghdad home, police said Wednesday.

Lt.-Col. Maan Khalaf said armed men grabbed Allawi's first cousin, the cousin's wife and daughter-in-law from Baghdad's western Qadisiyah neighbourhood Tuesday night. The prime minister's office had no immediate confirmation.

A posting on an Islamic Web site by a group calling itself Ansar al-Jihad group claimed responsibility for kidnapping three Allawi relatives, and threatened to behead them in 48 hours if their demands aren't met.

They demanded that Allawi and his government release all female and male detainees in Iraq, and lift the siege on Fallujah.

There's a trap for you. Even if he doesn't like his cousin, I believe Iraqi culture is very family-bound. They'll all be watching this one, "insurgents" and supporters alike.
