Seven U.S. soldiers killed in Baghdad

As if to exonerate Rumsfeld regarding his response to the unarmored troops in Kuwait, a tank has been blown up in Baghdad, killing seven U.S. soldiers.

[January 7, 2005] A roadside bomb has killed seven US soldiers in Baghdad as violence continues across Iraq ahead of scheduled elections.

A US military spokeswoman said the blast hit a Bradley armoured vehicle in the northwestern sector of the capital on Thursday.

None of the soldiers in the vehicle survived the blast, Captain Patricia Brewer said.
