George Bush and Tony Blair may be able to take some comfort from another finding of the ISG’s final report. It has apparently found evidence that Saddam had plans to start producing such weapons, in defiance of the United Nations.
...Critics of the war will still be able to insist that it was wrong to take preemptive military action when we now know for sure that Saddam had no WMDs. So does the suggestion that he was planning to build them offer a much-needed fig-leaf of credibility to the coalition?
Perhaps, and it is certainly a reminder that Saddam, who did not shrink from using chemical weapons on his own people, was a brutal dictator.

Maybe he was, but I think if you're going to have a fig leaf of credibility yourself as a reporter, you should stop repeating information as fact when it has been put into question.
